Suffering a crisis of faith as a Catholic priest, Jeffrey Kendall pilgrimaged on El Camino de Santiago yearning for a word from God.  Throughout his one-thousand-mile spiritual adventure, Kendall wrestles with God, grappling with his call to the priesthood and his existence in the context of the abuses of power he experienced in the Catholic Church while also exploring his relationship with a heroin-addicted prostitute.  As he walks downtrail struggling with these dilemmas, readers go on a profound journey of their own.  A memoir that will resonate with anyone who has struggled in a relationship with God, Kendall’s story is a catharsis for the soul and the remarkable tale of one man’s quest for a new start in life.

1 / Theophanies

I have written poetry in a strange cycle.  About every ten years my Muse appears, and poetry just comes out.  It has been a while since I have written a real poem and my not write anymore.  To my good fortune, I finished a book of poetry before my Muse abandoned me.  It has been sitting on my computer for more than a decade, maybe two decades, waiting to be published.  I hope to publish it in July 2023.

4 / A Cycling Book (No Title Yet)

I love cycling, and as I ride (abound 100 miles a week, weather permitting), I am writing a crazy book in my head.  Someday I might commit it to paper!

The wild projection date for its publication is January 2024.

2 / The Stone Scream

I have a lot more to write about.  Healing in the Catholic Church was impossible, which is one of the saddest commentaries on the Catholic Church.  When I worked as a priest, I often said, "If we are not in the business of healing, we are not in business."  The Catholic Church I know is not in business.

3 / I May Yet Return

More than 120 letters written by Benjamin Douglas Kendall when he served in the Army of Northern Virginia have been preserved.  William Kendall, my father, did the initial work on the letters, and based on his work, I made several fascinating discoveries that deserved to be recorded for history.  However, completing this book, which I would love to do, has personal challenges that need to be overcome.

5 / The Transcendent Arrow

I love archery and have begun a draft of this book, which will explore the transcendentals of being, but that draft is rough, and I need a free year to write it.
